Choosing the glass
Content determines form. To fully perceive and appreciate the wine or cognac, it is necessary to create a wineglass, whose shape and volume match perfectly this goal. Here everything is important - the volume, the diameter of the neck, the thickness of its edge and sides in general.
Thus, red wines require big glasses, the white ones - medium-size glasses, the cognacs - glasses that allow you to appreciate their character, and not their strength. During many years, thanks to different designers, special glasses have been created for the dozens of regional and high quality wine and cognac groups.
When choosing the glass, wine experts are guided by different reasons. Including - the traditions.
Our tradition of wineglass selection has formed on the basis of the classical, European rules. Thus, for champagne we use a tall wineglass, glasses - for red and white wines, small glasses - for vodka.

Shape of the glass
Not so long ago, with the rise of elite wines and cognacs fashion, and with the growth of the corresponding demand, big special glasses are more common. Wine and cognac serving in such glassware becomes pure art. Glasses must have a certain size, so when filled, not less than a third and not more than a half, they could contain enough quantity of drink. Red wine glass capacity must not be less than 0.25 l, but their paired glasses of white wine, are always a bit smaller. It should be noted that, the 0.35-0.40 l glasses produce a better effect and, especially for the finest wines - about 0.5-0.7 l. The best glass for champagne is the one that has the shape of a flute; it is this glass that will render most fully the aroma of a high-quality wine - on the basis of which the champagne was made. The most exigent drink towards the glassware is the cognac. However, there are glasses created especially for it that pass the bouquet perfectly. Usually they are pear-shaped, with a constricted neck. In this way the most strict demands of the experts are met: this kind of shape renders completely its delicate harmonic, floral scent and soft velvety taste.

Design of the glass
Thus, the real experts must realize, that glasses of unexpected shape and size - is not a design cost, but a technological necessity for a full taste of various types of noble wines and cognacs. At the same time, their design is quite simple - thin-walled, without ornaments, almost ascetic, they are very beautiful.
It is indeed a refined glassware.
